When I first wrote PSO2 affixing guides, Dudu was the unbeatable final boss of PSO2 JP. That was more than 5 years ago. Today, he’s a lot nicer. While old affixing methods still apply, a lot of shortcuts have been added. This guide is still Affixing 101 for PSO2 JP, and will cover accessible, safe and easily replicated affixing methods in four main steps.Read More »JP PSO2 Affixing Guide 2020
I play PSO2 JP. I left for a bit after Episode 5 hit and came back to to years of powercreep and relearning 😂
Survey wanted 400 characters? I went for 387! :’D
Here’s my response.
PSO2 Episode 5 is shaping up to be a controversial one. Right at the start, some huge nerfs and buffs changed the gameplan of some classes completely. The new class, Hero, despite the fancy “advanced class” moniker, has the most idiot-proof playstyle of any class by far.
Phantasy Star Online 2’s controversial Episode 4 is ending. It was a mixed bag of an episode. Some changes were good – NT weapon grinding and 12-star units made gear sets more flexible. Some were interesting, like Skill Rings and gathering. And some just make me wonder what they were thinking, like Maron Strike being a feature.
Now, Episode 5 is almost here. To usher it in, the level cap was increased to 80, with some very steep requirements. There’s talk of hard-capping damage at 999,999 to ‘balance’ cross-class Chain Trigger, and more Collection Files in the pipeline.

Getting an S-rank on solo Profound Darkness is actually hard :/ Still trying to figure it out myself!
So I’ve been doing a lot of homework watching videos and trying to figure out how the fight works. It turns out there’s a Youtube of every class getting an S-rank, so that’s a lot of variety to work with.
The 12★ Units are really the biggest thing about Ultimate Amduscia. The Gix weapons are decent but not really game changers. The pet upgrades are a straightforward grind. The map itself is a straightforward Point A to Point B quest. So I’ll just talk about the Units.
Those are pretty much the only two things of interest to me last patch, so I’ll get to them.
A hype livestream! That’s nice – and here’s my thoughts on the more interesting (to me) parts of it.
The 13★ Gal weapons are here:
- Monarchadis (Twin Machineguns)
- Resangrips (Jet Boots)
- Stradanis (Wand)
- Alumisuist (Rod)
- Glayjadac (Bow)
- Secfalse (Rifle)
- Gale Febris (Double Saber)
- Keimostross (Wired Lance)
Get them with the Kuron collection files. The files expire on October 5th, and… they came at a bad time.
